The M5 motorway and then the A30 — near-motorway standard for practically all of the 75 miles that you are on it — take you right down the spine of the southwestern peninsula until you peel off onto traditional Cornish roads and lanes for the final 20 miles via Gerrans (just above Portscatho) to the chalet in its secluded setting within earshot of Towan Beach and it's National Trust car parks at Porth Farm.

It is also possible to travel by train (to St. Austell or Truro) or by air (to Newquay or Exeter) — but a hire car is then a must. Nearest postcode is TR2 5EX.

Due to this property's remote location, it is approached by a track of about 350 metres parallel to the beach. We have an ordinary family car and have no problems, but if you do have a low slung vehicle with very little ground clearance then Towan Beach chalet is probably not for you.

Car parking is provided at the top of this track so, to keep the nature of the place, please do not park at the chalet after you have unloaded.
