The apartment is a short walk from York Rail Station. The east coast line is very fast with frequent trains between London and Edinburgh which stop at York. The fare can be expensive if purchased on the date of travel but very reasonable if booked when the fares open - 5 months in advance of your travel date. York centre is pedestrianised and very easy to move around on foot. From this central apartment, there is no need for a car if you simply want to experience York and do not intend to drive into the countryside. There is a direct train link from Manchester airport to York Rail Station. The apartment is yards from several public car parks.
