There are many ways to get to the South of France, here are some suggestions:- If you're taking your own car then:- By Ferry. There are a number of operators that sail from the South of England direct to France, these include DFDS Ferries, P&O Ferries, Transmanche Ferries, Brittany Ferries, Condor Ferries and LD Lines. There is also the option to sail to Spain and drive to France, this can be done with Brittany Ferries. Another alternative is Hull to Zeebrugge (Belgium) and again drive into France from there. . By Eurotunnel. This goes from Folkstone to Calais (Coquelles). When taking your own car the quickest route to the South will be via the Autoroutes but remember there are tolls to pay, this can be in the region of 90€ each way. You may also want to have an overnight stop, there are plenty of 24hr hotels just off the autoroutes, these include IBIS, HotelF1, B&B, Kyriad, Premiere Classe and Campanile to name a few. If you're not taking your own car then:- By air. Again there are a number of alternatives here as to the destination in France, you can fly to Nice, Nimes, Montpellier, Toulon, Toulouse etc depending on how much driving you want to do from the airport to Le Dattier. The closest main airport is Nice which is about an hour's drive from Le Dattier.Low cost operators include, Ryanair, Easyjet and Jet2. By train. It is possible to go by train but this can take a very long time.
