Historically, we have flown into Gibraltar for most of our trips, hiring a car in La Linea, just a short walk across the border, but have not tested this since Brexit. Alternatives are flights to Malaga, which has regular flights from most British and European airports, and is just over an hour away on good roads. We would recommend the motorway, for which there are charges, but it saves a lot of time.
