St Ives is 7 miles off the A30, the main route into Cornwall from the M5. From Exeter it is about a 2 hour drive, Exeter airport offers many connections as does Newquay airport which is only 40 minutes drive from St Ives.The train from St Ives takes you to St Erth where you join the main line to London Paddington or change and go into Waterloo - the journey time is approximately 5 - 6 hours and other than getting the pretty 2 carriage train from St Erth which meanders along the coast for 10 minutes, a perfect arrival in St Ives. The sleeper train service from London Paddington is another great idea when deciding on how to reach St Ives. From the train station you can get a taxi which will cost approximately £3.00 up to Beach Haven.Alternatively if you are hand luggage only or have wheels or are fit and able to carry your bags it will take you 20 minutes approximately to walk to Beach Haven.
