Using the Dover port ferry crossings, the journey from Calais or Boulogne usually takes approx.4-5hours. Opting for a ferry crossing to one of the more southern French ferry ports (Le Havre, Cherbourg, Caen, St. Malo for example) can reduce your driving time on arrival in France but obviously the crossing times increase. Paris to Chateau La Mothaye by car takes approx. 3 hours. By Train: Nearest TGV is in Angers (30 min to station: Angers St. Laud).
