Directions from Crown Point Airport to Chaconia, Black Rock Dreams, Old Grafton Road.

After collecting your car, exit the airport, following the main road in the direction of Scarborough. Tobago is not endowed with many signposts and one ‘suburb’ tends to merge with another. Most of the tourist shops and many of the restaurants are to be found along the main road. You will also pass the Coco Reef Resort on the left hand side of the road. After passing the main shopping areas (including Pennysavers) the road will continue for a short while, before a lefthand feeder lane will become obvious.

Get into this feeder lane and at the traffic lights, please turn left down Shirvan Road. On the right you will see Shirvan Plaza. Several of the nicer restaurants are to be found along this road.

Continue along this road, through another set of traffic lights and through the Mount Irvine Golf Course...

You will need to turn left again just after a bar on the corner of the road, called ‘Leggers’. The area on the right is called ‘Pleasant Prospect’. There are signposts at this left turn to various places, including the Seahorse Restaurant as well as Black Rock Dreams.

Follow this narrow(ish) road along the beach passing the Seahorse restaurant. Please note there are now some speed bumps on this road, which have not been painted, as well as one or two patches of large pot holes...

Black Rock Dreams is on a corner, facing onto the beach, just before the road goes uphill. It easiest to unload luggage by taking the car through the wrought iron gates up the slope on the right hand side of the building and then putting the car in the underground garage. Chaconia is on the ground floor far left. The gates will probably need to be unlocked and then relocked when you have moved your car.

If you go past the turning at Pleasant Prospect, it is does not matter as you can also take the next left further along the road (having passed the entrances to a couple of hotels/resorts on the left hand side of the road). Black Rock Dreams would then be on your right at the bottom of the hill.

Just remember when driving in Tobago, indicating is not always considered necessary – especially if you want to stop and chat to a friend you see walking along the road or needing a lift!
